Joanne & Terry Manning have owned and loved Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers since 1978. Joanne is a member of the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of America, Delaware Valley Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club and South Shore Kennel Club.
It is our intention to preserve this wonderful breed for the coming generations by adhearing to the AKC Breed Standard. Our breeding principals are based on the SCWTCA Code of Ethics. Please visit www.scwtca.org for a wide selection of information on the breed, and to see if it's the correct breed for you.
O'Mannion's Wheatens is an AKC Breeder of Merit.
We carefully select homes for our puppies. We ask that you complete a questionnaire. Once received, it will be followed up by a phone call. Please be patient in waiting for a response because this is a hobby for us. And like everyone else we're very busy with life events and work.
If you're a fit for an O'Mannion Wheaten, and live locally, then an appointment will be made to meet. If you live out of state, please be aware that we do not ship our puppies. You would need to fly in to Boston, MA or Providence, RI. No exceptions here.
We do not keep a "list" but ask the family to "stay" in touch with us. Once we have a litter on the ground, and a puppy suitable for your family, we will take a deposit. We will select the puppy for your family based on our experience in evaluating the temperament of the puppy.
Puppies are generally released to their families no earlier than 9 weeks . At that time they will have health certificate and up to date on core vaccines. All puppies are sold with an AKC Limited Registration and contract.
We do at times have a retired show dog, and or an older puppy that didn't make the "dog show cut" for placement. This is probably one of the hardest placements we make, but our dogs go on to wonderful homes and we continue to have a great relationship with them and their new family.
We are always looking for a person, or family who is interested in showing dogs. There are all levels of involvement, so if this has ever crossed your mind, I'm glad to discuss this. It's great for children, families and retirees. It can be a lot of fun and very rewarding. Whether you're a crazy show person, or a loving caretaker, it's another exciting dimension to dog ownership.
Puppies just want to have fun!
